The 2022 Corporate Social Responsibility Report of Agricultural Bank of China (hereinafter referred to as the “Report”) is the 16th report released by Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) since 2007. The framework and content of the Report were prepared to comply with relevant standards and guidelines, including GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and GRI Financial Service Sector Supplemental Guidelines, ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Guidelines (2010), and other opinions and requirements of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the China Banking Association, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.
The Report is composed of six sections including Opening Chapter, Governance, Development, Environment, Society and Ending. The “Opening Chapter” mainly comprises the message from the Bank’s leaders, overview of ABC and management responsibilities, and systematically discloses the social responsibility philosophy and management system of ABC. 17 topics in “Governance, Development, Environment and Society” Chapters showcase the performance and practice of ABC in dimensions and on all fronts. Specifically, the “Development Chapter” focuses on the primary responsibilities and businesses of ABC, and reflects ABC’s solid efforts and achievements made in promoting high-quality economic and social development and the modernization of China by describing its measures and effect in the aspects of serving rural revitalization and high-quality opening-up, boosting industrial upgrading and transformation, and supporting coordinated regional development. The “Governance, Environment and Society Chapters” mainly demonstrate ABC’s endeavours in practicing green finance, following community development, improving governance and caring for employees.
The ear of wheat on the cover of the Report stands for harvest and hope. Rich elements in the ear of wheat show ABC’s practice in “building a beautiful China and making people live a happy life”.
